Receiptcamera is an application that automates the process of expense claims compensation, including purchases for cash, per diems, mileage, and credit card bills.
The traditional expense claims accounting requires a lot of paperwork and necessity to keep packs of receipts. It is not an employee-friendly practice. Accountants are not satisfied as well — receipts constantly get lost, therefore expenses are not fully covered with supporting documents.
The Receiptcamera app records all corporate and accounting expenses via desktop or mobile interface and transfers them directly to responsible accountants.
An employee takes a picture of a receipt through Receiptcamera, the app recognizes data and automatically adds the cost, VAT, cost centers and accounts in the expense claims form. The employee only needs to describe the expense and send the form to his accountant. The accountant verifies the form and approves the expense with one click. After that, the payment can be sent to the employee’s account automatically.
Receiptcamera also tracks mileage and per diems, and connects the receipts to the credit card bills automatically. The app supports the electronic accounting system of Finland, Sweden, and Norway and integrates with Netvisor and Maventa e-invoicing platform.
The scope of paperwork has decreased greatly, and the process of expense claims reimbursement has become 83% automated and three times faster. As a result, accounting costs have diminished up to 70%.
Amoniac has adopted the project with basic functionality and moved through production to deployment and support of the working web platform and mobile app.
The team realized Ruby on Rails back-end, Backbone.js-based front-end
in the form of Single Page Application, and several important Integrations with third-party services like Netvisor and Maventa.
The project is still ongoing: we are expanding functionality and adding new integrations.
